Do I need an account to join a pool?

How long does it take to set up a pool?

About a minute. Choose a tournament from the live schedule, accept the auto-generated tiers (or customize them), and share the invite link. Tiers are auto-built from current world rankings, so you don't have to research the field.

How is prize money calculated?

We use the standard PGA Tour payout percentages applied to the tournament's total purse. Each player's projected earnings update every few minutes based on their current position. Your team's total is the sum of your picked golfers' projected earnings, same math the PGA Tour uses to rank performance.

When do scores update?

The leaderboard pulls live tournament data every 5 minutes. Most users see updates within 60 seconds of refreshing the page.

What happens if a player gets cut?

If one of your picks misses the cut (or withdraws), their projected earnings drop to $0. The rest of your picks continue earning based on their finish position, so a missed cut hurts but doesn't crater your team.

Can I change my picks after the tournament starts?

No. Picks lock at the deadline the commissioner sets (typically Thursday tee-off). Once locked, the lineup is final.

Tied teams get the same rank on the leaderboard. The leaderboard shows a clear tie indicator so participants know they're sharing a position with another entry.

Stroke totals barely move during the tournament and one missed cut buries your team. Prize money scoring tracks the same metric the PGA Tour uses. The leaderboard moves every round as projected payouts shift, and picking the actual tournament winner is a $600K+ swing on a single pick. More dramatic Sunday afternoons, more reason to watch.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

Go to your dashboard, click "Manage Subscription," and you'll be sent to the Stripe billing portal. Cancel with one click, your subscription stays active until the end of the billing period.

Can I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?

We don't offer prorated refunds, but canceling immediately stops future charges and you keep access until the billing period ends. If you have a specific situation, email support@golfpools.co and we'll work it out.

Does the subscription auto-renew?

Yes, monthly. You'll receive an email receipt each renewal and can cancel anytime to stop future billing.

Which tournaments can I run a pool for?

Any official PGA Tour event. That includes all four majors (Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open, The Open Championship), signature events, regular tour stops, and the FedEx playoffs. The full schedule is built in.

How many people can join my pool?

No limit. Pools work great for small office groups (8-15 people) all the way up to large company-wide pools (100+).

Can I run multiple pools for the same tournament?

Yes. Some commissioners run separate pools for different groups (one for the office, one for family). Each gets its own invite link and leaderboard.

What happens when the tournament ends?

The leaderboard freezes with final results once the tournament concludes. Winners are visible immediately. Past pools stay accessible on your dashboard so you can reference results later.

Can I export pool results?

Not yet, but it's on the roadmap. For now you can screenshot the leaderboard or share the pool URL.

My picks didn't save, what happened?

If the deadline has passed, picks lock automatically and any unsaved selections are dropped. If you're sure you submitted before the deadline and your picks aren't showing, send us a note via the feedback form below, include the pool URL and we'll check the database.

Question 21

The leaderboard shows old data, how do I refresh?

Accepted Answer

The page polls fresh data every 60 seconds while you're looking at it. Hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R / Ctrl+Shift+R) if it appears truly frozen. If it persists, let us know which tournament and we'll investigate.

I can't find my pool, where did it go?

Accepted Answer

Pools live on your dashboard. If you joined via invite link and didn't create an account, bookmark the invite link or the pool URL, that's your access point. Logged-in users see all their pools on their dashboard.

Question 23

A player on my team withdrew. What happens to my pool?

Accepted Answer

Withdrawn players earn $0 for the tournament. Your team's other picks continue earning normally. You can't substitute the withdrawn player, picks are final once locked.
